Has anybody had a chance to play the Jack Bruce Signature Thumb? I'd like to hear what you think of it. Is it any different than a regular Thumb?

  2. I think it has flashing lights... (no, really - I'm serious...)

umm, not quite sure about the bells & whistles, though...

It has red LED's on the side of the fingerboard, and an autograph inlay on the body. Sweet sounding bass.

I want one! But can't justify the price and I don't much care for that signature inlay. Bet it's a nice sounding bass, tho. Warwick Thumb neck-thru fretless, what's not to like?

  5. I have the both the Thumb NT 5 , and the Thumb NT 4 - the 5 is a bit neck-heavy, but of my electrics, the Thumb 4 is my favourite. Strung with Pyramids, it's so darned nice to play!

The 5 came from Bass North-West, but I got the 4 off eBay from a place in the Mid-West. I think I paid about $1200 which included shipping. Both of mine are early 1990s - and from past posts here, I'm led to believe that the more recently made Warwick basses just aren't as well-made as the early ones.

    Good Luck!

Jack Bruce is leading a band live on "Jools Holland's Later" - a UK TV programme - next Friday. I'll have a look and see what his bass looks and sounds like - I shall definitely be recording this!! :D

This gives me UK-envy. Wish I could see it, Jack is great, please post something after the show and let us know what songs he played, gear, etc., eh?
