Hello people, i'm a new member of this forum. First of all nice to meet you all  I play bass guitar for around 5 years and i'd like to buy a new bass guitar in the next 2 months.I play hard rock/heavy metal type of music, so as the thread title says i'm between those two bass guitars.A classic Jackson CMG concert and a Fender jazz bass special reissue. Actually is to hard to choose, so if anyone would like to help i would appreciate that.

    P.S. Excuse my english :p

I think I am the biggest fan of Jacksons there is at this talkbass forum, but if I had to choose, it would NOT be the CMG, it would be other models from Jackson that are much better, and cheaper for what you get. Just from the 2 choices, get the Fender!!!

The correct choice is actually very simple. It is the one that fits you better and feels more natural in your hands.

  4. go for the fender and you'll never look back

I'm glad to see people taking part here, just to mention that a Gibson Thundirbird would be cool too, but it's just more expensive so i would like to stick on those two.The fact that the Jackson one is equiped with active EMGs makes me like it a little bit more than the Fender one, but anyway is that a huge difference as far as the quality is concerned?

IIRC the Jackson is MIJ while the Fender is MIM and IMO Japanese quality is at least on par with MIA quality.
