    Does the Fender Artist Series Jaco Bass (not the custom shop one) compare to the MIA's or the MIA Deluxes?

    You mean do the Am Jazzes and Deluxes compare to the Jaco Artist basses, dont'cha? I own both the fretted and fretless Jaco production basses and they are both superior in tone and playability to every recent Am Jazz I've owned or played. I also own a '96 AmStndJazz and '97 AmDlxJazz fretless. Not even in the same class with the Jaco's. They are easily the best Fenders I've ever owned (and I have three pre-CBS P basses and a great '74 Jazz).
