that is really great, i've glad that jaco can be honored in this way for the incredible influence he had in his lifetime. i'll be making a pilgrimage no doubt.
hahaha Dave. Clever. The only musician park that I really care about is John's Strawberry Fields in Central Park, if you wanna call it his. But it does have the big tile "Imagine," so I'd call it his.
But they will now be more inclined to find out! Congratulations to the Pastorius family. This is a great way for the City to honor Jaco.
Also a statue of liberty statue in the middle of the pool! That way, kids can honour Jaco by playing "America The Beautiful", Dropping their bass, and swimming to the statue and back! Then, sleep on the b-ball court. Just as Jaco claimed to have!
yeah Felix sent out an email about 3 weeks ago about this... I didn't know that it was considered news. He, John, Mary and Jules have been trying for this for a few years now and it finally got passed. Chet Atkins has hwy in the Southeast.
Very cool. Next step, we want a movie! Jaco's life was certainly "colorful" enough and he clearly had a significant impact on jazz music. At the very least the world deserves a good Jaco documentary.
