Jaco speaks??

  1. This is kind of stupid, but does anyone have any audio clips of Jaco Pastorius talking? I've never heard his voice.:)

    hehehe, that's kind of funny, I remember maybe a year and a half ago, I was on a huge jaco kick, then I realized I had never heard him speak before.

    when I finally did hear his voice I thought it was funny sounding :meh: :p

    You can hear Jaco's voice on his instructional video, on the Birthday Concert CD, and several times on the Jaco Pastorius Big Band Revisited CD just released.

    I liked his voice. he kinda reminded me of a shy child, he did not his voice. a certain uneasyness?

    Here is some advice jaco gave to ALL his students. I pieced this together from several responses on the 1985 instructional video..."learn the melody of a song not just the bass line."

    Yup - the film : Triumph of the Underdog" and Joni Mitchell's "Mingus" album - although that was very close to his death...:(
