Well I just got a Jaco (like the 5th time I'm like "bragging" about it :D ) anyway yea.. like right after the nut on the tuning side there's some grooves in the wood, I'm guessing thats natural? because of string wear/pressure? If not I'm going to bring it back and get them to order me a new one...

There's nothing new about Fenders doing that to the wood just after the nut there...so yes, it's competely normal.

Where did you get your Jaco bass? I have been trying to find the Jaco artist series fretless (not the relic version) but no one seems to have one. I was told they will not be available until June.
