Is it just me or are the controls on the Jaguar Bass more complex than they probably need to be? Throw some pans (or a three-way) and some push-pulls on there and it would be closer to "normal."
It's only one more switch than a passive P/J with series/parallel options and bypassable active EQ when you get down to it, and you could even eliminate that by replacing the individual on/offs with a 3 way switch. I don't own one but had a friend's on loan for a while and they're beautiful basses - didn't take much adjusting to the control scheme at all and I tend not to use the 'in between' sounds on a P/J like I would on a straight Jazz anyway.
What you are asking for is almost along the lines of Fender making a Jazz Master Bass instead of a Jaguar Bass. Haha
