    I list my favorites
James Brown - In The Jungle Groove
    P-Funk - Mothership Connection
The only Maceo I have is Life on Planet Groove, which is a great album.
You should also check The Meter's for some good funk, Look-Ka Py Py is good album.

And Grant Green live at the Light House has Wilton Felder on it, it's some funky stuff.
Also check out some Motown, James Jamerson was playing funk lines under that stuff as George Clinton said
"James Jamerson was the epitome. He started Fender bassing. All that funk bassing--Jamerson was it. He started all that bottom thing, and even though Motown had a pop sound, they still had some serious bass in that ****..." (From SITSOM)

The 1st 3-4 albums by The Brothers Johnson are good; I believe their debut is still my favourite.
    However, I do like "Blam", "Ride-O-Rocket", "Streetwave", & "Mista Cool"...all from Blam(their 3rd album).

    GCS-
Again, for me it's the debut...the 1st 2-3 albums are good.
