Hi, I am trying to find some Information about my Momose Jazz Bass. The name on the headstock is "The Jazz by Bass Collection". It's made in Japan by Momose Custom Craft Guitar.
    I think it's from the 80s or 90s.
The bass has an ash body and an ebony fretboard. Sounds great, especially for slapping.
Can anybody tell me anything about the history of this instrument? I got it used some years ago.

  3. According to a Dutch bass forum (http://www.basgitaarforum.nl/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=37489) these basses were ordered by a Dutch bassplayer & shop owner (http://www.connectionbult.com/wp/?page_id=941) in the 90s. Apparently a good quality bass that was ignored by a lot of bassplayers because of its wonky logo. I remember seeing one just like this one in the flesh back in the day in my local guitar shop. Never tried it. Ash body, maple neck with an ebony board indeed. Here's one that has seen some more use: http://www.dijkmansmuziek.nl/online-winkel/snelnaar/occasion/bass-collection-jazz-bass-detail

They were made for the bass collection shop in London in the 90s. Mine has a different logo to yours but same stamps. Great craftsmanship & rarely come up for sale. I got mine for £350 & it's my dream bass. It was a replacement for my last dream bass which was stolen but I'm kind of happy it did now......
