    After hearing this just wanted to share

    This is insanely tight and for me personally the best Metallica bassist
    And that tone is perfect
    Anyway enjoy, have a good one from Aussie Land!
  2. Jason was def the tightest guy with the most exacting tone consciousness that they've ever had. I recently listened to a remixed, bass boosted version of the And Justice album, and he absolutely slayed on all those tracks. I love Cliff, but they did very well when they selected Jason. As far as Robert goes, he's a great guy, but his sound leaves something to be desired imo.

    All in my opinion:

    - Jason was the tightest and best-sounding Metallica bassist;

    - Cliff was the most creative;

    - Rob was great... with Suicidal and Infectious Grooves. I think his playing with Metallica is highly overrated, but don't tell that to Metalli-fanboys.

    And in the vein of "Justice For Jason", here's "Cliff The Lightning":

    100% agree with everyone here
    Jason was the cleanest and his backup vocals
    Cliff was the most 'creative'
    Robert if amazing but not suited for Metallica
    If only Jason sang on this recording

    Love Jason, solid and accurate. Bassists of all styles should aspire to his playing and professionalism.

    Robert is a beast, though I don’t listen to any new Metallica albums so I’ve heard very little of him with the band. I’d guess he might be the best all around “skilled” bassist of the three.

    Cliff just had “it”.....he was an important piece in the original Metallica sound, and his style and individuality are unmatched in this bunch. In my opinion, Enter Sandman and everything after doesn’t play out that way on his watch....

    Yeah, Monsters of Rock, more like Monsters of Burying the Bass in the Mix. Van Halen was also on that tour, and OU812 is the same way - great basslines, down to barely audible levels in the mix!

    I wish I knew how to download this version of the album. Absolutely amazing what Jason was able to do........ all while being silenced (personally and musically) by Lars.

    I think it would've happened sooner. Cliff wasn't a thrash guy. Lars talked about how cliff had all these classic rock records while the others were into motorhead. A magazine republished an interview just before his death. They asked him what his favorite thrash bands were. He said he didn't listen to thrash and was into a little known band from Atlanta called REM.
