Check it out on Rogers site www.sadowsky.com in the instock section. From what i here Jason Has about 18 Sadowsky and plays the life out of them. I bet their is a good chance the Nino Brown has played on Jasons new bass.

Yes, I did. It was very nice to have a 24 fret 5 w/2 J's instead of soapbars.

If for some strange reason Jason dosen't like it & returns it, I have to buy it. :)

    HI!

Hey Nino, I hope you don't slap much. That wouldn't do on this bass. I hope you're enjoying the Porsche shirts:D

Why is it not good for slapping?

You don't have to have tons of room between the last pickup and the fretboard...I don't get it.

I'm referring to Roger's comments more than Rob's...

    Nice bass!

It probably isnt too crash hot for slapping, because jason uses a pick 99% of the time. well, he did in metallica anyway.

    Nice bass anyway!

If you slap on this bass, the string will/might hit the neck pickups causing unwanted popping/undesireable noise.

No, that's not what I meant. The neck pick up is very close to the end of the neck.

Look at the normal pick up placement of a 24 fret 5:

and the mormal pick up placement of the Vintage/Standard 5:

Now look how close the p/u is to the neck on Jasons bass:

Hell, I spank my bass over the last 4 frets part of the time--I am not afraid of your neck pickup! :D

I also played one of his older Vintage 5's.

  13. For an example of how you'd sound sound hitting the pickup, try slapping on a Rickenbacker 4001/4003 with the neck pickup on.

It tried this once and it was....well, interesting. Kind of sounded like a penny in the dryer. I'm not knocking the Rick: fine bass for fingerstyle.

  14. Depends on your slapping style, I suppose--the strings don't hit the pickup if you strike with your thumb over the top few frets rather than off the end of the fretboard. (And yes, I've slapped on a Rick...)

Exactly. This is why I was confused...I would think technique would be the major factor...Oh well.
