Is anybody had tested Di Marzio jazz in bridje and Di marzion ulta jazz in neck on the same bass, to get a very growly bridje sound and funky slap on both?
Are the outputs of them are nearly the same?

I haven't tried that particular combination. Neat idea.

The Ultra-Jazz has a higher output than the Model J (250mV vs. 150mV).
The U-J has a different magnet structure - Alnico 5 & Ceramic vs. Ceramic,
and about twice the D.C. resistance (12.3KΩ vs 6.73KΩ ).

I was gonna' put a pair of Ultra-Jazz' in a recently acquired Yamaha BBN4F.
Love them high-output passives on fretless' :p.

Here's the respective DiMarzio pages for each...

    Model J   Ultra-Jazz

Notduane, I have a pair of Ultra-Jazz in my MIJ Jazz. Really like them. what does the difference in resistance mean relative to the sound?

Wellll...here's according to Unky Seymour :) (Duncan that is) --
That sorta' jives with the specs and charts on the DiMarzio page, i.e.,
the Ultra-Jazz' 250mV output vs. the Model J's 150mV output. BUT.
The "tone charts" indicate the Ultra's treble response at 6 vs .the
    Model J's at 4.
