i'm getting a (five string fretless) jazz knockoff, and i'm trying to soup it up a bit. if any of these questions are dumb, i apologize, but we learn by asking, right?
    1. what pots are in the '62's?
    2. what cap should i be using to approximate the '62?
    3. how hard would it be to install one of the series/parallel switches (s1)?
    thanks!

Check all the series/parallel threads in the Pickups section FAQ. You'll find a schematic I did for the S-1.

CTS 250K audio taper pots. Solid shaft for usual J and P knobs.

    .047uf cap.

    Allparts.com, acmeguitarworks.com, and guitarpartsresource.com all carry them.

That's a good kit - it's all CTS pots, good Switchcraft jack, good wire, nice cap. Enjoy.
