"Jazz Bass" Guitar.

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by jordacr, Jul 10, 2002.

  1. An electric guitar for bassists or a guitar for a guitarist who wants to try to look as cool as a bassist.

Hey ive seen basses that look like guitars for guitar players that want to play bass they have shortend scales(19FRETS) and smaller necks.

Looks like a Strat with a modified pickguard and a Jazz Bass Control Plate.

  5. The lower Horn looks a bit different from a strat...

  6. The body is definitley more offset (like a jazz bass) than a strat.

  7. I really like that.

I want to see a guitar shaped like my FBB :D

  8.

i'll just take a strat, thanks.

  9. i wonder if a J-retro could fit in the control cavity...

  12. dude, keep in mind i've got a reverend.

i guess the phrase "an electric guitar for bassists" just strikes me as, er, stupid. i don't know, i'm sure it's a fine guitar, it just rubs me the wrong way for some reason...

    man/dude ;)

i never really considered the rev much of a diversion.

other than some interesting material combos and structural changes:

i think its still the same old story, stylistically anyway. and we all know its about image, no?

    KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

seriously, the Rev has always gotten my interest...i need to try one.

what do you like about it? looks like a fender-ish neck.

  14. the question is, what DON'T i like about it? it simply sounds and plays better than anything at my local GC, and as such, it is the best bass i have ever played. the neck is vintage jazz-shape with a smooth satin finish, and the pickups are the best, most agressive yet versatile passives i've ever heard. i'm sure there are a lot of better basses out there... but not for 700 bucks. in my opinion, not for 1000 either. i haven't tried enough "boutique" basses to determine where it really stands. anyway, it's a keeper.

so, we were talking about guitars? :D

nothing like a thread tangent to whet the whistle!

i'll definitely give the rev a rumble.
