I own a 2000 Fender American Standard Jazz, and a 2004 Highway 1 Jazz . The American Standard has a much warmer sound. Are the Electronics diferrent? Does the throughbody bridge make a big diff. in the sound? Thanks

Fender is a good brand. Only disadvantage is the fact that every bass is different, even from the same series. I own a Standard Jazz, and it sounds totally different from the Standard Jazz of a friend of mine.

    I think it's just bad luck ;)

The electronics arent that different but I think it might be the differences in body wood.

How much difference does string through body make? I was thinking of doing it to my Highway ...

The main difference is that it gives you more sustain.
