Well I thought I had seen everything but this takes the cake. http://cgi.ebay.com/1964-Fender-Jaz...itar?hash=item3ef7276897&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
Difference this time is that previously the 'asking' price was $65,000. So the economy is definitely coming back then.... I'd say he's looking for options and also making sure it's at the top of any listing searching from High to Low price-wise, as a lot of us do.
this one appears every few months or so on e-bay, exactly the same bass pics with the same date stamp on the end of the neck - I know because it is 13 years (to the day) before I was born, and always at some extortionate price. been seeing it periodically over the last two years. absolutely insane. I wonder why the price keeps going up if it isn't selling?
To quote Samuel Johnson, "the triumph of hope over experience." SOMEBODY's gonna make me rich! C'mon, guys, step up to the plate. The widow I cheated this out of is bugging me about it.
The price is barely relevant. It is an auction with best offer. If someone were naive and they offered let's say $25,000 and got it, they might think they were getting a good deal because of the exorbitant listing price. Then they'd be more likely to follow through.
Every time this one pops up on ebay I low-ball an offer at $200. It's immediately declined, go figure.
ITs probably worth a pretty penny, and I saw some pictures of it from that other thread and yeah, its georgous. Almost too good. But 75,000? Not even if I had it.
How much does this guy have to pay in listing fees every time he unsuccessfully tries to sell it? I know this is at least the fourth time I've seen it listed.
Is anyone else noticing the REALLY wide spacing between the A and D strings in those photos, or is it just me, or is it a funky bridge perhaps?
That 7 is actually a code for something else rather than the day of the month. All Jazzes had 7s on the date stamp, while all Ps had 5s.
+1 I don't imagine the seller has any delusions of getting $75,000. Judging by the wording, sellers feedback, and choice of photos, I suspect they know exactly what they are doing...
ebay changed how they work awhile back. They don't charge listing fees on something like the first 4 listings a month but now they charge the % of the total sale if it sells. So he probably isn't paying anything. -Rav
You know for $75,000 US you would think it would come with free shipping. Does he really need the extra $65 if someone buys this? Hell for $75,000 it should come with hand delivery door to door by the seller anywhere in the continental US. -Ravi
Yeah you made me notice that... I wonder why it's like that. 75 k and he can't get the string spacing right?
