Jazz Bass phase problem?

    Hey guys.

    Made a project bass from Fender parts and took the pickups from my -64 CS NOS Jazz Bass.

    Checked the wiring and soldering 1000 times but it keeps ending up like this.

    Neck pickup full bridge 0 - great sound
    Bridge pickup full neck zero - great sound.
    Both - hollow sound, less output and I think I hear a slight phase problem but I’m not sure.

    I’m completly stuck... and out of ideas?
    Has anyone had this problem?

    Can it be - Copper Shielding, old pots, bad wires?

    Help is unbelievably welcome.

    You can rule out phase if you swap the wires on one pickup.
    If it gets worse, it wasn't a phase issue.
    If it gets better, Voila!

    A slight volume drop with 2 pickups full is normal.
    A dramatic loss of volume and lack of los means out of phase.

    Will try swapping cables.
