jazz bass pickguard....

    Probably a really obvious question to answer but im stumped...

    Why the hell are the holes for the thumbrest below the strings?? that really does seem stupid to me...so could someone explain

  2. Back in the day Leo Fender thought people would play his basses by resting their fingers on the "thumbrest" and use their thumb to pluck the strings.

    I say unscrew it and put it uh, on the side you would play at...

    I need to get a thumbrest for my SX anyways because I have the neck pickup set really low...
