Got my Fender American Standard Jazz Bass from Music123 today. So glad to see that Fender still makes a quality product. Even though this one is black with a white pickguard the quality shines throughout. I love my new Fender Tux!!!:p :p :p

Congrats on the new Jazz man. You're gonna love it. I don't have a new one, all I have is this old 1969.

    Great bass!

I've been lovin' my passive Jazz V since '98. It's a '97. I went back to the plain white pickguard, but otherwise it looks like this:

I love my '99! It has a J-Retro, and when I played it the other night, I couldn't imagine another bass sounding so good! Since I got it, this bass has been home sweet home.

Does it have a rosewood, or maple fingerboard?

I've got quite a few custom basses, but I can't seem to stop playing my MIA 75 Reissue. I've upgraded it with Fralin pickups, JRetro, sanded neck, and TI Jazz Flats, and I'd put it up against anything out there.

This pic is before I replaced the black guard with a tortoiseshell.

I love this bass. you simply can't go wrong with a Jazz Bass:

And you can't put it any better than that.

Mine hase the rosewood fingerboard. Fender J Basses are a thing of beauty even when they are not being played. :p :p

Congrats. I love my Jazz basses, even though none of them are Fenders. :)

Am I unusual in not particularly liking the way Fender basses look? Still, congrats on the new bass, it's always great getting a new instrument!

I felt that exact same way for about 8 years.. But this summer I fell head over heals for the sound/tone of the Fender Jazz bass. Right after that I didn´t care what they looked like.. But now I absolutely love the way my fender looks, feels and plays! The tone is the bestest ;)

This is of course IMHO, YMMV etc.

  16. Love those J-basses...
Here's a pic of my rig... The main axe (in the middle) is a 74' J-bass. The other one's are just replica's, but they feel, look and even sound good...[IMG]

Me, I think the asymetrical body of the Jazz is one of the greatest designs of the last century. It will still be admired when all those coffeetable-basses are coffetables again.

I also love my mia jazz bass its a 96 sunburst passive five string. sorry I dont have a pic to post.I'd like to find out what strings you guys have on yours? I had DR sunbeams which sounded great but when they go dead they're hideous.
