    Hi,

Does anyone know any jazz clubs or jam sessions in Minneapolis?
I'm here until Wednesday and would very much like to check out the scene.

    Thanks!

Seems to be a quite small jazz scene in Minneapolis.
    Am I right?

    NYC, Inwood.
Go on FB and find where Gordon Johnson is playing. Tell him Steve from NYC sent you.

I met Gordon yesterday, very nice guy and played great!
He told me that it's tough to be a musician in most cities in America today. Sad to hear but maybe it will get better again!

Did you get to the Icehouse on Nicollet on Monday? Jazz there every week, and during dinner on Fri/Sat. Last night they featured Anthony Cox, JT Bates, Mike Lewis and Luke Polipnick. If I wasn't playing elsewhere that's where I would have been.

Your best bet for tonight would be the Artist's Quarter in St. Paul.

Google Blackdog Coffee and Wine Bar as well, plenty of jazz on their calendar.

Also, Jazz Central (artist co-op) in NE Mpls. Should be something going on tonight and tomorrow.

There is a calendar on the right hand side of this page:

    Good Luck.

Leaving tonight but will probably move here next year, will have some more time then. ;)
