?-Jazz in series = hum canceling?

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by lbwdog, Feb 8, 2006.

  1. When two (reverse wound) single coil Jazz pickups are wired in series does it retain the humbucking properties of parallel wiring? I'm considering a 60th Anniv. MIA with S-1 switch and am curious.
Also, which pot becomes inactive when in series?

If the pickups are properly winded, then yes. If they aren't, well, even in parallel they'll hum (see old MIM jbasses with two bridge pickups instead of a proper set ;))

No idea, it depends on how you wire the switch, and I don't know how is the 60th anniv wired.
