jazz neck pickup recomendations please

hello everyone i'm ordering some jazz pickups pretty soon and i need some advice on what might work for the task i'm after

ok i play in a metal band and i'm switching to jazz bass's because i've played pbass and soapbar for waaaay too long and i fancy a change (plus i cant call myself a real bass player till i have a p and a jazz bass.... at least thats what i've told my mrs)

i'm after a neck pickup thats kinda p'bassy in that it has a decent thump to it and a good clean sound (not growly) and if possible with a good treble response that isnt harsh

i'm not too sure where i wanna go with the bridge part of me says get a really growly pickup so i have the best of both worlds but the other part of me says get one that compliments the neck to make the sound more rich

any thoughts?

 

wait i think i've found my answer after some trawling through the depths of talkbass

dimazio model j's or ultra jazz seems to be the recomendation for jazz players who want Pbass sounds

will the series to parallel conversion switch thingy make them more P thumpy or will it just turn my tone to mud?
