    Hey y'all

Say I wanted to put a pickup cover on a MIM Jazz.Just the neck pickup cover.Would I have to drill into the bass or what?!?Or just get a pickguard with holes already in it??

P.S.Where would you recommend to buy atort guard for my Jazz from?
    Cheers

You may run into a structural issue- my 1996 MIM neck pup rout is a big square hole (almost big enough to hold a soapbar) rather than a J-pickup-shaped hole.

If your bass is like mine, you can still mount the cover, but you may have to use much longer screws if you want them to find wood. If you try this with the usual cover mounting screws, you may find that the only thing holding the screws in place is the pickguard. I don't use a cover, and don't have one to measure, so I can't say for sure. Hope this helps.
