Jazz playability with a Ric sound

Discussion in 'Luthier's Corner' started by king_xanadu, Mar 23, 2009.

  1. *this is more than likely in the wrong forum*

    is it possible?
here is what i wanna do
    a jazz body[what wood?]
    jazz neck[what wood?]
    Badass bridge
either Rickenbacker, Bartolini, or Seymour Duncan RIC style pickups
volume and tone for each pickup pickup selector switch with stereo outs

any suggestions or changes to my design
what woods do the Rickenbackers use?
    what woods should i use?

  2. Ricks are solid maple with, sometimes, walnut wings. They also have neck-through bodies - not set necks, not bolteds. Bodies seem thinner than your stock Fender.
