Jazz Teacher in Raleigh, Durham, Cary NC

    Looking for a Jazz teacher in the Triangle Area, preferably in Raleigh or Cary.

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

    Chuck Sher publishes my book, WALKING BASSICS:The Fundamentals of Jazz Bass Playing.
    NOT in those towns you mention, but I know he gigs in the area, you should look up Ron Brendle. He's a wonderful player and a nice cat. If the distance is too great or he's not in the area often enough, he may know of someone who is.

    But he'd be worth the drive.

    Ed's usually right on the money, but there is one guy that he may not know, John Brown http://www.jbjazz.com/

    I went to school with him and John is a hell of a player and a good teacher. He used to back up Wynton when he came to Eastern Music Festival in Greensboro. (Got to sit in once :D )

    Look him up. Well worth your time.
