  1. Do you like him? He's no bassist but deserves commentary in this forum... I love his solo work, especially "Cosmic Messanger" - the record's got very nice grooves :bassist:

I love the Jean Luc Ponty Live album, with Ralphe Armstrong on bass. Ralphe does a killer basss solo on fretless. I think my favorite Ponty stuff is Mahavishnu Orchestra's "Visions of the Emerald Beyond". His playing on that album sounds influenced by Indian classical music, and is very passionate.

Love him!! My favorite CDs by him are "Open Mind" & "Enigmatic Ocean".
  5. mmm....Enigmatic Ocean....Holdsworth...tasty.
    How's it going Woodchuck??
  6. Never heard of him until four or five years ago when I found a couple of records in my parents vinyl collection. I listened to the records and was flabbergasted! His solos are awesome. I've been a huge fan since...

Later I noticed that he appears on some Zappa records and that some "Zappa musicians" also play on Ponty's records.
