Ok, so while reading the Bass Player article on Oteil Burbridge (June 2003,) the album entitled "Electric Funk" by Jimmy McGriff was mentioned. After I finished the article, my interest was piqued. I went to the local CD store and was lucky enough to find the last copy they had (used, but in perfect condition.) I took a listen in the store and was blown away, I practically ran to the register. There is some serious soul/funk/jazz groovage going on in this album. According to the above mentioned BP article, Chuck Rainey and Bernard Purdie played on the album.

I highly reccomend this CD to anyone!!

Really? I'll have to keep on the lookout for tour dates. I definatley would like to see him live.
