Ok, so I'm doing Jingle bells, and I'm intending on modding it a bit, kind of like an improv. I'm not sure who's really familiar with playing it, but so far, I've added the open g to the third harmonic interval, when it goes "Jingle all the way." (where usually they say "all") Finally, I'm slapping the last part in the chorus, rather than playing intervals. Anyone else ever do a Jingle Bells improv before? Any suggestions? I'll try to get a recording up (even though it will be a horrible recording) once I'm done. I'm going to try and get some other people to do this with me (on other instruments, of course.)
Actually, Allodox, it's a bit trickier than you'd imagine. I'm playing it using all harmonic intervals and chords, with some slap parts. Either Xavier or Embellisher did the Canadian Anthem, I don't recall which? Does whom ever did that have any suggestions when slightly altering something that was already done, yet not going overboard and ruining the actual sound of the song? So far I've changed the technique (instead of finger style, it's slap and finger picking chords (with my finger nail)), and added a few notes in some chords.
