JMJ video?

Discussion in 'Ask Justin Meldal-Johnsen' started by TheControlled, Mar 25, 2013.

  1. Yo Justin, I've been watching Joe Baressi's "Tracking Rock" videos a fair bit lately for inspiration. Not sure if you seen them, but they are pretty good at giving you a (HD) insight into his studio and some of his more commonly used techniques, mic choice and placement, signal chain etc without giving away too many secrets!

What are the odds of you ever doing such vids for your loyal followers? :)

    Cheers, Elliot.

I don't feel entirely qualified to do this, but I suppose it would be fun. Maybe another 10 albums in. :)
  3. Pfft. Mr Modest! :p Joe is an unreal engineer, mixer and producer, however, he is very drum and guitar oriented (he is a guitarist himself I believe). Sure, he gets some pretty great bass sounds, but it would be great to see how an experienced bass player approaches things from the producer's chair.

I can totally understand making videos not being a top priority during a busy time, but the thousands of posts in this forum is definitely proof that you have enough to share in a video or two if you wanted to. :^)
