My new favourite bass player. I've been a big Fugazi fan for a while, but I went to see them the other days and they were so good it was unbelievable, but Joe Lally especially. Pretty inanimate on stage, but played flawlessly - seriously, I was looking for mistakes (how sad is that?).

Just wondering what everyone else thinks of him? For me, the worst bass players are those that are 'all flash and no smash' (a Flea phrase), but Joe Lally is undoubtedly all smash and no flash. The BEST bass line writer in rock music in my opinion.

His lines are simple but 110% effective...

also he stands out against two guitars and he actually don't use that much the "punk tone" (lots of highs) like the other thousands of punk bassists out there.

    me likes!

    He's cool. I haven't heard a lot, though..

Fugazi came to Iceland once, but I couldn't go to the concert:mad:
  4. i wouldn't call his lines simple, a lot of them are pretty impressive.

well, in comparison to "root note punk" they are as complicated as they can be.... i stand corrected! :)

    and yes they are impressive.
