I'm trying to learn the basslines to the songs from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and I was looking at the insert to the 'Rocky Horror Show Original Roxy Cast' CD I have and listed under musicians it says: Bass: Joe Osborn

Does anyone know if that's the Joe Osborn?

  2. Yes. Also has his long-time studio partner Hal Blaine on Drums. Interesting stuff on Joe HERE

  3. Oh man! I went to Joe's site and read his discography.....STUNNING! I doubt James, Carole, Bob, Leland, etc can match THAT!

Wow! That's one large list of credits! Thanks for the info. :)

  5. There are also a ton of MP3 clips at the site too. Lots of Joe to hear there for a quick fix.

Joe played on the movie soundtrack. There is another soundtrack recording by the guys in england that were doing the stage play, which came before Lou Adler produced the movie and all of the music. When you watch the original rocky horror picture show movie, its Joe and Hal and other wrecking crew people. The first song has some great bass high parts, my personal favorite

    Michedelic MId-Century Modern

Makes perfect sense; Joe played on the vast majority, if not all, of Lou Adler’s productions when he needed a session guy. Mamas and Papas were just the tip of the iceberg.
