I haven't seen any posts on this bassplayer. He laid down a lot cool basslines in many pop hits in the '70s. I just started reviewing some old cheesy Fifth Dimension and Carpenters albums. Joe does some very tasty lines with his Jazz Bass, dead flatwound strings, and a pick. From what I read, he followed in Jamerson's foot steps as far as keeping old dead flatwounds on his bass for as long as possible. Although I personally either play finger-style or slap, I think this guy made playing with a pick very cool. His playing still sounds great today.
