So do you have any build details?
It's a bass.
This one is another rescue. Alder body with twice the number of pickguard screw holes than when it left the factory in '71. It may have been Olympic White originally but there was not much left to prove it. It will not be white when I get it back. The neck has a nice rosewood board and the tuners on this one will be from my favorite tuning machine company, Hipshot. Pickups are AG4P's with a grounding plate.
Nice! What color are you going with?
Fellow Kallas fans, here's a shameless plug for my Kallas Jazzmaster bass for sale in the classifieds: For Sale - John Kallas Jazzmaster Bass
Sweet bass. You wouldn't happen to be generating some funds for the Sadowsky SA200?
Thanks, man. Haha, that's part of the plan.
Wow. New one?
No, this is one I have had for a few years now, although I'm tempted to do a new build.
How about you? Anything new in the works?
Yup. Progress pic may come this week. Lot's of delays on this one but he's a one-man shop and life happens. But, as you know, it is worth the wait! Not like I don't have other basses to play. In fact, to fill my "need" for new, I built a real nice P, based on an MJT Sherwood Green body.

Great interview including his experience meeting Leo Fender.
Just curious how your bass turned out?
My latest Kallas masterpeice - a 1971 restoration in Shell Pink.
Looks great! What did you have done aside from the finish? Do you have any before pictures as well?
Addition of pops and Hipshot drop-D for starters...
That shell pink looks great! Waiting on my '66 replica to be completed - so pumped!
here's a couple of pics when I was filling holes, dents & dings:
Looks like another job well done.
