John Lennons/ Jack Bruce's Fender Bass VI

  1. Wow, i was watching let it be the movie for the first time in a while, and i noticed through most of the middle of the movie, he is using one. It's awesome to see it in action, though he's not exactly the best bass player. Any comments on Bass VI's, I personally would love to try/own one.

Lots of info in that thread. However, since it is so old, I will leave this one open, instead of merging it. There are bound to be plenty of people with new input on this topic.:)
  4. Me too. I love the sound of the Bass VI. If you're interested in hearing some great music made with the Bass VI check out Doug McCombs of Tortoise and Brokeback.

I've played 6-string basses for decades, and owned a Fender VI for years, now I have a Gretsch SynchroBass VI(w/Bigsby) and a Jerry Jones Longhorn BassVI. They record VERY well, a clear distinct tone, very punchy.
