Hey guys, Just recently bought myself a Schecter Studio 6 (I'm in love and my girlfriend hasn't seen me in 4 days). I'm generally tooling around with the extra range and getting used to it reasonably well. I also tracked down an old copy of John Myung's bass video (Progressive Bass Concepts). I'm not a huge fan of Dream Theatre, but I love John's playing. I'm trying to track down some sheet music for Ex10 from the video, a quick piece with heaps of harmonics. I'm getting it by ear and eyes, but still struggling a bit with some parts. Can anyone help me out with tabs or sheet music for this piece?
you can actually play it on 4 string it goes like this: SUSTAIN EVERY NOTE YOU CAN Part 1 x2 G----------(2)-------------(5)------------------------------ D-------------(2)-------(3)---(5)--------------------------- A----------------(2)-------------(5)------------------------ E--0--0-------------(2)-------------0----88-77-888-77----- G---------------------------------------------------------- D---------------------------------------------------------- A---------------------------------------------------------- E---88888-7----------------------------------------------- Part 2 G-----------------(5)--------(9)--------(7)----------------- D--------------------(5)--------(9)--------(7)-------------- A--------57--57----------0--------------------------------- E---0-0-----------------------------8---------------------- Thats most of it and enough to give you a good start. This is one of my favorite warm ups and is really fun to improvise around when you have a drummer. Good luck.
Thanks highwattage. I'm at work at the moment, I'll give it a whirl when I get home. Out of curiosity, did the video come with the sheet music for the Examples? If so, does anyone have a copy they can get to me? (Scan/pdf, postage to Aus. if you want etc?)
actually that post i made earlier kinda sucked after i looked again and i realized that is really wrong. oh well
I just searched for it on Limewire, the first result was 'John Myung Progressive Bass Concepts has screaming orgasm'. Limewire truly is the application of kings.
