    Selim and noelpaz like this.
  2. Cool! BTW is a 3/4 size bow the standard size, like with basses, or are these smaller?

On a whim I picked up one of these from the Reverb site. Louis is right that it's a really fine bow—beautiful figure on the pernambuco, well made, very clear voice.

I'm finding it a little light for my style (it's 129.5g).
I'm within the 7-day return window with the store, but I'm happy to pass it on here for what I paid for it:

$399.99 + actual shipping to you in continental US.

PM me by Monday 1/28 if interested!

They are very much like Prochownik's bows - light and fast. Thanks

+1. I also bought one of these and find it to be just as reported by Louis and spagettiwestern.

    Hey! I’m considering that one - JM5BGOCT

    New/Old Stock Jean-Paul Martin "Premium Select-grade" Pernambuco 3/4 German-style Bass Bow JM5BGOCT

    or „Fusion Silver” model

New/Old Stock Jon Paul 'Fusion Silver' Carbon Fiber/Pernambuco German-style 3/4 Bass Bow JP705

Fusion is carbon fiber with pernambuco and cost 1556$ in 2008 while the one from the topic - JM5BGOCT - 1011$ then. Now they cost about the same on Reverb. I can’t try them out :(
Have anybody had any of these and could say something?

I can't speak about the Fusion bow, although someone has one for sale here; carbon fiber is carbon fiber and even the best are a bit monochromatic. The advantage would be its durabilit depending on your climate. Both Selim and I are VERY happy with the Premium pernumbuco bows - mine plays as well as any $2000 bow I've owned.
    I hope that helps
