THE most important person in music radio is no more - nobody can fill his shoes...
  6. Very sad indeed. I think there can be few people who did so much for independent music over the years... You could never second guess what was coming next on his radio shows. Punk, Prog Rock, African music, techno, new wave, country...

I remember the week he filled in for somebody on the breakfast show - hearing The Wedding Present and Napalm Death at 8am is good for the soul! :D

    Bless him.

JP was the kind of spirit that is all too rare on radio, and music in general. Let's carry on with his vibe in any way we can!!!
  8. Much, much respect. Used to catch him every once in a while on the short wave. God only knows how many people across the British Empire and beyond he influenced. I'd like to think someone up there is saying, well done John.
  9. Why are there two threads about John Peel? Oh well, I guess he deserves at least two. I'm going to go start another! :)

Just joking around, don't get all offended or anything.
