Sounds like Claypool before Claypool sounded like Claypool.

What is it that it is?

I seem to recall reading somewhere that he had a Vox Fuzz-Wah pedal.

It almost sounds phased as well? Or is that just a cranked wah?

It more more than likely a Colorsound Fuzz Wah, as that was one of the only ones readly avialable at that time in the UK, it could have also been a rare EHX fuzz wah... That pased sound is just the wah as traditional wah and paser are very similar is frequency - as they are both biased off of bandpass filters. I love that tone though! Thats my fave KC track.

ps. I am back - boo yeah... Not that anyone noticed my absence... :crying:

In an interview in Guitar Player many years ago Wetton said it was an "Italian fuzz-wah", brand unknown.
