Is it any good for bass?
A local guy is selling it at a great price and I need a pre for home recording of both guitar and bass.
How does it compare to the guitar POD and the Sansamp classic?

I've got one. I posted about it when I first got it, so a search might help you. I really like it as a headphone amp, but have not used it for recording. Make sure you get a midi interface for your 'puter so you can use the editing software and download the new amp models from their site. I have not compared it to the sansamp. In my last band, 1 guitarist had the J Station and the other had the Pod. I think the J Station sounded better, especially the rectifier patch.
