Looking to trade my Joseph Bohmann 7/8 bass for another bass. This bass was made in Chicago in 1920 and the string length is 43. It was being sold at Lemur Music a while back for 6,900. I would consider selling but I would really prefer to find a instrument that better suits me. There has been some repairs on the neck as you can see in the pictures.

Not at the moment sorry. I haven’t played for a while due to some injuries.

  4. Hello,
The seventh photo shows the bass lying on its side - with no neck.
Do you know what happened to necessitate its removal?
Is the original neck back on it, or a replacement?
Is it a D or an Eb neck?
And could you measure across the upper bout (shoulders), in inches, please?
    Thanks

Hello, in the picture it does have a neck as the neck has never been taken off. It is a D neck and on the measurement I will have to get back to you as soon as I can.

  6. Yes, sorry: I see the neck now.
Earlier I mistook it for a brace attached to the rack of basses behind yours.

  7. Has that top been replaced? It doesn't have the thick purfling like on most Bohmanns.

So when I bought it the owner told me it had some work done on the top but I took it to a luthier for a sound post adjustment and I was told the top had been replaced.
