jus a question bout Tech 21 sans amp bass driver DI

get it. i'd email and ask why he's selling it, but seeing as how he has no negative feedback you should be safe.

i'd get it. i use mine insetad of the preamp on my trace head. sounds great. if you do any recording it's a great DI box too.

 

i got my newer version (it has knobs) for $120... keep that in mind.

 

I don't know where you guys have your eyes, but that is not a Bass DRIVER DI. Just Bass DI. Straight DI box. Won't do zip to your sound if you just put it between a bass and amp.

 

not true i have that model and i use it as a pre amp.. I has the same controls as the newer one, they're just on the inside of the cover

But having the controls inside the box seems like an awful mess to me, no?

 

it's totally up to you. Do you want to spend whatever on the older version, used, ect. or, you could get one for about $120, newer version, controlls on top, and brand new, so you wouldnt have to worry about it breaking or whatever. it really is your call. If its worth it do you to have the old one, the go for it. I'm not sure about quality between new and old or whatever, mines the newer version, its built like a tank, nothing has ever gone wrong with it, and sounds great.

 

I'd pass since if you are patient and do some digging the new version can be found for under $100.

 

Go for the new one used if you can. Messing with internal trim pots sounds like too much trouble. I also don't see mention of a bass and treble control in the description, so those might be two controls the newer unit has that this older one lacks.

not at all.. It's nice really.. once they're set I don't have to woryy about them getting moved.I use it as a preamp, so I keep the same settings all the time
