Just another DIY garage built 12” cab.

Progress this far of my semi lightweight 12” cab. I plan to build 2 of these and feed them 100 watts a piece.

I could have gone smaller, but wanted the extra height so I can hear it, especially when I stack two of them. Will be used for rehearsal and small bar gigs most likely.

Power will be either a BAM200 or Darkglass Microtubes 200.

Internal dimensions of 13” x 13” x 23”

Tuned to 45hz

Built from 1/2” birch plywood glued with construction adhesive and air stapled.
Fully Braced on all sides.
Port will be a 4” round port below the speaker.
Speaker is a MCM 55-2952 @ 8 ohm.

Any particular reason why tuned to 45hz?

I read this:

and this:

But am totally a casual on cabinet design and porting.
Ran the design through a few different cab modeling software programs. Thats where it seemed to want to be. I may still adjust tuning some after it’s all together. Just need to play it and see how it sounds first.
