I found a Peavey Bass-Fex for $40 at the pawn and from the reviews I read, and seeing that it sells on eBay for $100 and more (than and the ProFex II as well), it can't be a loss (plus I can always return it). Right now the power adapter is missing (it is a 16.5VAC 1 Amp, I'll go get one tomorrow at the electronics store). What would be the best way to connect it to my Peavey Tour 700? Both have effect loop send and return, I suppose this would be the best way to do it...
There is no true and honest answer for this.. much of it is opinion... companies commonly run a loop becuase it's expected to have one. I always run them inline to elminate one more connection.. I can not hear the difference.. some effects do make a bit of noise or distortion that makes them more popular to run between pre/power. I know this isn't the answer.. you'd have to test them both. SUGGESTION (sound guy consensus).. if you're going to the board.. you really want the bass as close to the send as possible... in this case it would be bass=>effects=>DI T.
