just bought an ampeg 8x10 and the svt pro 4...

  1. i love this thing!!! its amazing, now anyone want to tell me how to use it? i'm amazed at the tone i can get out of it. i'm still playing with the controls but if anyone wants to give me some advice it'd be nice. i have one question, how many watts is the svt pro 4? it says 1200 but then 2x600 so whats that mean?

    It's 1200 watts mono bridged.

    Or you can run it stereo with each side receiving 600 watts.

    Read the manual before you screw it up=)

    ^^ Correct. It's a killer amp and mono-bridged will bring some serious punch in the gut.

    My 4pro with my Mesa 6x10 is just awesome.

    You do need a custom cable to run it mono - hopefully it came with it.

    Also they overheat easily, so be careful what rack you put it in. The vents are on the sides of the unit.

    Not really true...you can use any speakon cable wired correctly...

    Bridge: pin 1+ = positive and pin 2+ = negative

    For stereo: pin 1+ = positive and pin 1- = negative
