Hello everybody.... just got a Dean Edge E4 lefty... paid $150 shipped Any thoughts??? my 1st dean that I've owned active pickups bolt on 4 string
cool! I paid $200 for my fretless version and love it ...except for typical battery hassles. Dean make great cheap basses but have never seen a lefty, I expect you will be keeping it.
That was my first bass ever! The tones were perfectly serviceable, but it is still my favorite in terms comfort and playability. As those are highly subjective and a matter of personal preference, YMMV, ofc.
I was given an Edge 4 that got water damaged--fixed it up and converted to BEAD tuning. It's been solid, no issues.
Spoke to the previous owner today.... found out that the pickups had been custom wound by dean just like the EMG pickups (in parallel) that are found in the Q4 bass guitars from that era.... yay
I noticed you joined recently so if it hasn’t been done yet let me be the first...Welcome to Talk Bass!
Hey b mac.. Spoke to the previous owner again.. He gave me the mini rundown.. 34" scale Grover tuners Ash ebony rosewood 5 piece neck Ash body Custom wound pickups (in theory) they are by dean (2012 mod) Aguilar 2 band preamp (2012 mod) He said it took. 2 months to get because the body had to come from Korea due to it being a lefty and the ash neck all being ordered by the previous owner in oct 2008
