Hey guys. I've just agreed a deal with someone for a modified Squier Jazz bass that they have, and wondered what you all think about it. It's been modified Jaco style, defretted, frets filled with bone pigmented epoxy putty. Then coated with 7 layers of epoxy lacquer with 24 hours and sanding between coats. The tuners have been replaced with vintage nickel pre-CBS keys and bushes, and the bridge has been replaced with a vintage nickel threaded barrel. Scatchplate has been removed and the original string tree, strap bosses and neck plate all replaced with nickel. What do you all think? I can't wait to play it!
i have hot-rodded one myself for a friend.i have found that the standard model Squiers are nicer than the affinity models.a few bucks more(20.00 or 30.00$)but worth it.GOOD LUCK
I just put some flats on my super squier. It is an affininty, but an older one. It's not bad. But the bartolini pickuos in it really make all the difference in the world. If it can make my affinity sound good, they can make anything sound good.
