  1. ....cause I'm a friggn' idiot!!! I was trying to slice up some carrots for a salad (no, seriously, they were carrots. Long orange things. Not the joke poll option) and put a 1 inch long cut right behind the nail on my left index finger. I now have 4 new stitches.

So, I've got stitches, a big bandadge, and can't play bass for a week. Great.

BUT, it does bring my lifetime amount of stiches to over 700!! Yay!!:D

This thread needs a poll perhaps more than any other thread ever.

  3. What options?

    Carrots should be cut lengthwise
    Carrots should be cut across
    Carrots should be cut diagonally

Damn. You have any idea how hard it is to type with one hand? Wait, don't answer that.;)

  4. At least it was the back of the finger - not the front!
It's sure to heal quicker - AND you can show it off too, say how a killer barbarian carrot forced the knife upon you........(ahem) nevermind.
    700 is damn impressive.........you a skater?

Sounds like a meat slicer accident I had the day before a show...

...and don't get me started on the hand damage I saw when I worked in a bindery...

I damn near sliced the tip of my left index finger off last year,
and I still have a scar on my left middle finger from a battle
    I lost to a Russell-Dexter chef's knife 5 years ago.

The attack was from some killer tomatoes.

This is the very reason I own a food processor.

You have to upgrade your friends.
  10. I once put a staple through my thumb to the nail. Of course, I was 13 at the time. How old are you guys?

Carrot cutting should relegated to the guitar players.
  12. Are you a member of some sort of masochist cult?

...or maybe you're just emo :p

Seriously though, how do you get 700 stitches? I don't think that I'm even pullin double digits yet.

Funny thing is I was chillin on my stoop, when this kid throw a glass bottel. It hits my lil sister, she was 10, I was 12. I go to chase down the kid. And he gets me jump. I'm fighting trying to get away and I get stab between the thumb and the pointer. With broken glass.

He cuts a lot of carrots.

  17. Ahh, but can you not also cut other vegetables?

How about this: What does a carrot do when you put it in water?

    -It floats

    And what also floats?

    -Dead Plants?

    -Very small stones?

    *A duck.

Yes. So, how do you know if you can cut yourself by cutting other vegetables?

    -If......You can cut a duck?

  18. Well, two of my bigger cuts had huge amounts of stiching involved. One on my head, where I fell and the head of a nail scraped along the side of my head, required 52 stitches. But the big one, that was when I tried to jump off a friends roof over a barbed wire fence.

    Another dumb idea.

One barb entered in, shall we say, the big fleshy part, and scraped all the way up to my right shoulder blade. Not very deep, just the length of a barb, but that one took 180 stitches. And I couldn't move for a week.

Oh, and thank you all for your well wishing. If that's what this all is...

To his credit, he did acknowledge that it was a dumb idea.
