I retired my Rick a good 10 years ago after I got my G & Ls. I would take her out from time to time and think how "small" she sounded next the G & Ls. After reading about the capaciter trick here, I decided to give that try. After taking it out, I discovered that the neck pickup wasn't working. I finally took her to the repair man, and he said he installed a vintage pickup he had sitting around the shop. I took her to the gig that night and wow! Sounded simply incredible. Never heard her sound that way before. I did some surfing around, and it looks like he installed a "scatterwound toaster model" pickup. Anybody know anything about this pickup?
