Just got off the phone with Jack from Phantom Guitarworks.... great service, i must say.

Not to mention we talked for 35 minutes about old VOX guitars and such.

I'm getting one of those, with dot inlays, white pickup covers, and black pick guard.

I like it.. and i get it in june. ;)

    Cost? $1100 or so..

    Not bad FOR:

    2 Curly cords
    12 sets of strings
    Phantom Guitar works cloth
    A Padded back cover bass

    Thoughts everyone?

So i'm getting a awesome, 60's style bass that isn't stupid expensive, and actually playable!

Believe me, it took me a long time to choose... but i've chosen.

And if you don't like it.. thats okay. :)

P.S. expect to see this thread bumped from time to time.

    Thanks, Ben
  2. Cool lookin bass, but how would it feel playing sitting down!?

I'm not really a fan of the shape, but I still think it's pretty awesome. Definitely stands apart from other basses.
What's the scale length? That picture makes it look like some super short scale.

I knew a guy who had the Vox one and I got to play it in a band setting for a few tunes. Very thumpy! It definitely has a vintage vibe! :bassist:

    Thanks you all!

Scale lengths is 32.5. So kind of medium scale. ;)

The one i posted a picture of IS the Wyman signature. Mine is the same, except it doesn't have fretboard inlay.

Thanks. It'll be a sure departure from my typical beloved Kramers.

Not to mention a sunburst hollowbody! :D

So sorry mate, but the Kramers aren't going anywhere... except maybe the cases :D

ok so the folks are footing the bill...but if you sold me all your Kramers, you would have a grand+ for the amp+cab you want :spit:

    A Grand?

All those old AMERICAN MADE Kramers were used by Eddie Vin Halen you know... my cheapest one is worth $450.... :ninja::D:D:D:D

But hey... a grand... hmm... that could probably get me some baltic birch and 18 inch speakers ;)
  18. If it was 30-inch scale I'd be very jealous! But medium scale? Not for me, but still a very cool bass!!!

    How about that?

I got a TEARDROP bass, except they didn't have any pictures of the Teardrop bass in Sunburst, so i just used a Wyman picture.

I actually didn't get a "Wyman", mine just looks like it and does have a 32.5 inch scale.
  20. Gaaah i don't need any more stuff to add to my wish list right now! haha
