Bag End S15 with a JBL 2226HPL Driver. I plan on using this with my Mesa 400+.

What do the rest of you TB'ers think? Will it do the business considering I D.I. to my PA for FOH sound. PA runs Yorkville Elite SW800 subs.

With the stock speaker it would sound great, but no clue with the replacement.

That's what I was thinking. The JBL alone sells for between 400 and 500. I paid less than that for this thing with the shipping cost. And the JBL is a high power handling driver. I think just this and the Mesa will be plenty for stage sound and give a great tone.

  5. JBL's sound great, but I have had some negative experiences plopping any old JBL in to any old cab. Some drivers will just work,Some will not. Pretty annoying when you put a JBL meant for a sealed cab in a TL606 style cab!
But then the JBL loaded Eden 15" I used to own was pretty fat sounding.

The problem I think you may find is that this woofer doesn't go too high. You might find it a little "boomy" and lacking in upper mids and highs.

Edit: I think a K140 would be a much better match.

I am a but concerned about boominess too. I'm hoping the eq possibilities of the Mesa will help eliminate that.

I will tell you this, the 2206 is THE finest 12" speaker available. Air cooled 4" ribbon voice coil and cast frame. I am a speaker repairman and have seen a lot of speakers. Hope you like it.

So the 2206 is the 12" version correct? This cab has the 2226HPL.
